We request that you familiarize yourself with our policies prior to beginning your coursework and booking services from KAAI.

Legal notices and Terms & Conditions for face-to-face training, coaching, speaking and e-learning.

The following constitute the Terms and Conditions to which applicants agree when booking any KAAI face-to-face training, coaching, speaking or e-learning/coaching (Terms and Conditions). Throughout the Terms and Conditions the KAAI means Katalin Allen & Associates Inc. KAAI reserves the right to review and update the terms and conditions periodically.

By using the KAAI’s website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

All services provided by KAAI are on the basis of these Terms and Conditions and if you wish to engage any KAAI services we shall only provide them if you accept the following Terms and Conditions. If you book face-to-face training, coaching, speaking or an e-learning/coaching you certify that you read all the Terms and Conditions.

Whilst we make every effort to keep changes to the site to a minimum, we reserve the right to make any amendments to the terms and conditions at any time to reflect changes affecting our business, including but not limited to, changes in technology, payment methods and legal and regulatory requirements. By continuing to use this site you agree to accept any changes made to the terms and conditions.

 

  1. Registration and Booking a face-to-face training, coaching, speaking or e-learning/coaching course

FEES: Tuition fees must be payed in full upon registration.

Payment can be made by certified check, email transfer (Canada), cash or by secure online payment through paypal. Face-to-face training, coaching, speaking and e-learning courses can be booked via the booking forms available on the KAAI website. You need to be registered before you can do this

The face-to-face training course fees include: tuition and in some cases, but not all, refreshments and lunch. There will be no course materials/hard copies available. The courses are participatory: meaning- we use tips tools and techniques to help you move forward in your personal and professional life by tapping into your own talents, skills and human potential. Hard copy of how-tos and curriculum materials will be available for certification students and in licencing agreements. Participants bring their own notebooks to record their own process and progress. There will be no video or audio recording on the part of the participants. KAAI reserves the right to do video recording if all participants agree.

  1. Prices, discounts and sales taxes
    KAAI reserves the right to change prices without notice.

Early bird discounts (10% off the course fee) are available on face-to-face training courses. The discount is not available in conjunction with any other offer and places are subject to availability. In some cases we offer a full or partial scholarship. Please inquire through e-mail.

If three or more people book onto the same face-to-face training course from the same organization they qualify for a 20% discount off the combined course fees. This discount only applies to KAAI courses and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Places are subject to availability.

  1. Payment

If you have an applicable discount code this must be entered at the time of booking, as the discount cannot be applied retrospectively. We cannot invoice for fees, or accept payment, by instalments.

All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Paypal will receive the information needed to verify and authorize your payment card and to process your order and is under strict legal and contractual obligations not to disclose this information to third parties. A downloadable receipt will be issued by paypal if paid online. All other receipts will be delivered by email or in person at the beginning of the course.

Please note that if you do not provide accurate details (including type of card and number) or if your credit card company does not authorize payment, your application will be deemed void. KAAI will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of applications deemed void in this manner.

  1. Sales taxes are charged at the applicable rate depending on the service and the customer’s place of location. Effective May 1, 2010, the place of supply rules for intangible personal property and services.

 

KAAI is a registered company in NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA. If the service is supplied in N.S., HST is applied. If the service is provided in another province in Canada, then the tax applicable in that province is charged. If a course is given in Ontario, everyone at that course pays 13% HST regardless of where they are resident. If the services are outside Canada, no GST or HST charges are applied.

Taxes are collected according to where the course is being given!

  1. COURSE CANCELLATIONS: KATALIN ALLEN & ASSOCIATES INC. reserves the right to cancel a course at its discretion. In this rare event, participants will be offered an alternative time and date to deliver the course within 1 year of the original date of course commencement. If participants cannot attend at a later date, the registration fees will be fully reimbursed and registrants will be notified by email. Any classes cancelled in such circumstance will receive full refund or transfer with no fee. Any other costs incurred by participants are not KAAI’s obligations.

Cancellation of an e-learning course
Once you have booked an e-learning course or package the fee is non-refundable and the booking non-transferrable. If you cancel any e-learning course or package you will not be entitled to any refund, nor will you be able to transfer your place either to another person or onto another e-learning course

 

TRANSFERS: Transfer requests are possible but must be used within a calendar year.

  1. REFUNDS:
     Refunds are an invoice in reverse. Whatever the participants/customers were charged in the first place they get back. A non- GST registered person does not get a refund.

  1. Ownership and intellectual property rights

Terms of Use

By accessing and using the KAAI’s website, you the end user is agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions of the user agreement.

The Website provides information including without limitation, articles, publications, videos, products, graphics, videos, sound, images, icons,  pictures and other materials (“Content”.) Access and use of the Content is subject to the terms and conditions set out below:
All KAAI teaching/learning materials, whether on the KAAI website or at a learning journey or training are owned by the KAAI.

The end user shall not sell, transfer any part of the content nor any rights granted under this agreement outside the participant/end-user’s course/s, or the end-user’s organization.

All intellectual property rights in all courses of KAAI, including the design, graphics and text of all printed materials, the audio of all webinars, videos, podcasts, are owned by the KAAI. No KAAI content may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed or linked to in any way, in whole or in part, without the KAAI’s prior permission. Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of the KAAI’s intellectual property rights.

The end-user is granted reasonable rights of use of the content so long as it is not used in any manner that might be deemed competitive with any product or service provided by KAAI. This permission consists of the right to use limited content, for general reference or educational purposes only. This also permits the citation of “limited amounts”. KAAI defines “limited amounts” as not exceeding 400 words or a maximum of 2 data tables or graphs per document. In such cases, the source of the data or analysis must be acknowledged in all documents and communications by providing the following source citation at the bottom of each analysis, table or graph.

Source (or adapted from, if appropriate): KAAI, name of product, reference, date of product.

The End-User shall obtain approval from KAAI, before publishing any amount of material from the content in any medium that exceeds what is authorized under this agreement.

Any violation of the agreement renders it null and void, and service will be terminated immediately without notification.

KAAI owns the logo GIFTS™. The end-user is not permitted to use the trademark logo or text GIFTS™ without prior written consent according to the trade mark laws of Canada.

  1. Health and safety at the face-to-face training course
    You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations and any other reasonable security requirements that apply at the premises at which the training courses are provided.
  1. Hotel/Venue Policies

Course-specific venue, travel, negotiated groups discounts information is provided for each course. KAAI is not responsible for any travel, hotel fees, rates and are subject to change. Due to public health regulations participants may not bring any food or beverage into any course held at a hotel.

Please be aware that there may be chemically/environmentally sensitive participants and we request that you refrain from wearing scented products and tobacco smelling clothes. We appreciate your willingness to help us make it a healthy training environment/learning journey for all.

  1. Invitation letters
    Should a participant require an invitation letter from the KAAI, we are able to provide this as long as full payment of the training course fee has been received. KAAI is not able to act on behalf of the participant and is not responsible for any costs incurred by failure to obtain visa or other travel related requirements

  1. Behavior
    KAAI reserves the right to remove any delegate from a training course whose behavior is deemed inappropriate by the KAAI or its trainers. In these circumstances, KAAI will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.

 

  1. Liability
    KAAI does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information in, or views expressed on, its training courses including course materials. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations.

 

  1. Technology
    KAAI does not warrant that the provision of any content online will always be available or be uninterrupted, timely or error free, that defects will be corrected or that such content is secure or free from bugs, viruses, errors and omissions.

Content linked to a web site:  Please note that certain links on a Web Site may take you to other websites. KAAI provides these links only as a convenience and not as an endorsement by KAAI. KAAI is not responsible for the content of any such linked sites and makes no representation or warranty regarding, any linked site or the information, products or services appearing thereon. Accordingly, you agree that KAAI will not be responsible or liable in any way for linked sites.

  1. Privacy

We request personal/contact information from you in order to secure your registration (name, email and shipping address) to fulfill your registration needs. If you or we have trouble processing your online payment, we will use this information to contact you. We will not share your personal information with any third party and personal conversations are held in strict confidentiality. We share names, address, emails among course participants for the purpose of connecting outside the course for further developing skills learned during the courses and for further collaborations. It is not intended to solicit others for personal marketing or solicitation of any kind.

Safeguarding Personal Information

Personal information, whatever its form, will be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. The safeguards will protect personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. The measures of protection include:

  • technological measures, for example, the use of passwords and encryption; and
  • procedural measures, for example, the shredding of sensitive personal information.
